Gracie Carlsbad is a direct affiliate of Gracie Humaita in Brazil. Founded by Grand Master Helio Gracie, now led by Royler Gracie, and brought to Carlsbad by 3rd Degree Black Belt Professor Nick Stefan. At Gracie Carlsbad, we empower men, women and children with the necessary tools to achieve their goals, whether they be physical fitness, self-defense, recreation, or competition. Our highly trained and professional Instructors seek to train the mind, body, and spirit by teaching the highest level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. You will love training in our family friendly, positive environment where comradery, respect and teamwork are of utmost importance.
Our Training methods are set up by the most experienced black belt in North an Diego County. Sometimes beginners try to train so hard and end up gassing and tapping from exhaustion. At Gracie Jiu Jitsu we teach you how to train at a pace that with help you learn, avoid injury, and get a great workout in the process. We would rather you tap because of a mistake, then give up because you over exerted yourself. Tapping from a mistake is a minor technical error that can be fixed, but tapping from exhaustion is a mental error that is something you have to learn and focus your jiu jitsu so this does not happen.
Everyone at the Gracie Jiu Jitsu Carlsbad Academy is family to us, and we want to make sure you are able to defend yourself through our martial arts programs first and foremost. Wether it is for your child who will grow from our little ninja’s program, Gracie jiu jitsu kids basics program, or our kids intermediate BJJ program (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). Kids that do jiu jitsu excel at other sports, school, and peer interaction. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is great for women as well. Most of the positions for women’s self defense mimic real life situations, such as rape attacks. The guard position in jiu jitsu, which mimics a rape position, is developed and mastered by Gracie Jiu Jitsu alone, no there martial art that has this position in it, period, and cannot protect yourself as well as a Jiu Jitsu practitioner. The workout for women is unbelievable, your will get toned, lose weight, develop an immense amout of strength without gaining any size. Along with all that it with give you more confidence, respect for other and know that you will be able to take care of yourself in almost any situation. Mixed Martial Arts is the latest craze for new sporting events! Well Gracie Jiu Jitsu started it all in this century with no hold barred events held in Brazil. The Gracie family started the UFC ( Ultimate Fighting Championship) and then sold it later on when it started to become more of a sport, then a style vs style match up. The Gracie family wanted to show the world that Gracie Jiu Jitsu was the strongest martial art in the world, and they did that by winning the first 2 UFC’s with the smallest and least experienced of the entire family, 170lb Royce Gracie. Thanks you Helio Gracie for showing and sharing with the world your family’s Martial Arts.
